It’s been a super busy month for most of us behind the scenes (new jobs, new houses, and work, work, work!), so we’re all looking forward to July. We’ll be skipping over a book breakdown this week, but come visit us on Thursday for a somewhat unconventional discussion of Fourth of July and related books.
July’s books will get rolling next week, and it’s a great batch!
- July 9th – The Martian by Andy Weir
- July 16th – Boo by Neil Smith
- July 23rd – Dietland by Sarai Walker
We’d also love to hear about your reading. Which books have puzzled you, kept you on your toes, or even made you raging mad? Those are perfect titles for us to discuss and we want to hear about them!

“The Martian” is great! Can’t wait to read your discussion/breakdown.
This week, I’m doing a lot of re-reading (which is unusual for me). After many years, I’m going back through the pages of “To Kill a Mockingbird” and Stephen King’s “The Stand.”

I haven’t read To Kill a Mockingbird since high school, but definitely plan to pick it up before Go Set a Watchman.

I try to re-read Mockingbird every couple of years. It never disappoints. 😉

Boo! 185 holds on 39 copies at Chicago Public. Maybe I’ll break down and buy a used copy.

Oh! I’m so excited because I have the audiobook of The Martian and the ebook of Dietland! Yay! I know I won’t get The Martian done by the 9th, but I have hope for Dietland. 😀
